Healthy Gut nutrition is important for many things, such as our immune system, our mental health and how we digest and absorb certain nutrients.

I like to discuss tempeh a lot – it’s a fermented, plant protein food. So many people that I work with have never tried tempeh, but it can be an affordable protein source, high in potassium, fiber and it’s a fermented food. You can cook it like ground beef, crumble it like tofu or sauté it for a stir-fry.

Another nice fermented ingredient is a surprising one for many people – Miso Paste!
It’s easy to use in salad dressings, and full of flavour – but keep it mind, it’s high in sodium, so be cautious with your use.
